Fruit Tree Pruning (Ingela Wanerstrand)

June 24 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm PDT

$20.00 – $25.00

Learn all about basics of fruit tree pruning through this partnership between Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens and PlantAmnesty!

At this in-person class at the Arboretum in Everett, you will learn why your pruning strategies might be different when you prune for fruit production. This class will cover apple, cherry, plum, and pear trees.  Figs and other fruits may be addressed as time permits.

Dormant season is a good time to prune many of our more common fruit trees, but summer pruning may be better for certain other fruits.  Some particular pruning goals are also achieved more easily with selected summer pruning strategies.  Learn what seasons are recommended for different goals. You will also learn how to train young fruit trees early so that they are primed for good structure and a productive life.
