Experts in the field will demonstrate the basics of fruit tree pruning in small groups, followed by plenty of opportunities for attendees to give it a try on a variety of fruit types. We are extending the hours of this workshop beyond our usual time to give additional hands-on time in the afternoon. This workshop will be held in near north Seattle, just minutes from I-5 and bus routes, with ample parking.

Registration is $125 for members, $150 for nonmembers.  We recognize that this represents a significant increase in workshop fees. It reflects our increased expenses to provide experienced specialty instructors for our specialty workshops and enables us to continue offering these workshops on a variety of properties.

Morning demonstrations and discussions will include the following trees: pears, plums, apples (standard and espaliered), fig, cherry and kiwi.  Summer pruning will be discussed where appropriate.  We also anticipate being able to discuss and hopefully demonstrate tree netting. The afternoon hands-on time will be devoted to working on pears, apples, and kiwi.  Our instructor:student ratio will ensure adequate resources to answer all questions during morning and/or afternoon sessions.

We will continue to require proof of full vaccination or a negative PCR test within 48 hours of the event.  We are not requiring masks for this event, but we ask that you not attend if you are experiencing COVID symptoms and/or have tested positive for the virus.
