MEDIA OUTREACH CAMPAIGN
The Media Outreach campaign has successfully alerted hundreds of
thousands to crimes against nature committed in our own
backyards. PlantAmnesty averages three major
print publicity articles each year (including Associated Press
articles in 44 states, fine gardening articles, the front page of
the Wall Street Journal, and various major city newspapers such as
the Seattle Times,
Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Oregonian, Vancouver Sun, Los Angeles
Times).
PlantAmnesty is also featured in radio
and TV interviews and evening newscasts from time to time
(including various cities within the Canadian and Australian
Broadcast systems), and we are referenced in many smaller
newsletters and publications regularly. Success is largely
due to outspoken style, combining humor and controversy around
a subject as dull as landscape maintenance.
